Boatloads of Love

Boatloads of Love

This stamp set has been available for a while, however it is a recent addition to my stamp set collection. I had a lot of fun with this card... lots of details.

For the main image, I started with two boats, I distressed the edges of the first image using DTP with a Black Stazon pad. I used a bashful blue marker to highlight the outer edges of the image to create a shadow. I applied color to several areas of the main image for more depth. The second image was colored, and cut out. I used a 1/8" handheld punch to punch out the small circles in various areas. I used a Fiskars heart handheld punch to create the stack of hearts inside the boat. For the matting underneath the sentiment I adhered to large ovals together. Finishing touches .... no card of mine is complete without the glitter. This card has lots of silver glittler specs ... and I meant LOTS, I used a fabric glitter spray to achieve this look.

Tomorrow tonight is the last class in the Holiday Hooha series. I am sad to see the class series coming to an end but I am very excited about the upcoming classes. As I have with each of the previous classes.... I have a fabulous tool time presentation ready to share... but I don't want to spoil the suprise so check back over the weekend for more Valentine themed projects.

Embrace Life

Embrace Life

I created a card and gift item for my mom to extend to her boss to continue to show her support after the services have commenced. I find in supporting a friend or loved one who has suffered a great loss... it is important to show support for a long period of time. Initially it seems as though there is a great deal of support prior to and shortly following services, but the grieving process is such a lengthy one that it never hurts to find little ways to show your continued support. I thought this card and box of chocolates would be a great gift to leave on the principals desk (my mom works at an elementary school).

Its no Monday, but this Mojo Monday Sketch #20 was just to fabulous to pass up! Absolutely Fabulous Julee, to see the sketch click here. I find myself in anticipation of Monday... I cannot wait to see next week's sketch!

Heartfelt Sympathy

Mom called today with an unexpected request... a sympathy card. These are my least favorite of all the occasions to send a card. I struggled with ribbon choices at first and then decided to dye the ribbons to match using two different applications.
