Polka Dots and Paisley... Circle Craze

Circle Craze!

Today is a very busy Saturday... I have a lots of projects to finish but wanted to start the day by finishing the designs for my Spring Fever class on Monday. The girls attending this class purchased the promotional bundle and are bringing their stamp sets and wheels to class to create 4 projects using their new products. I am planning 3 very simple cards and this WOW project for the class. Today's color combination... well it's St. Patricks Day.. have to have a little green and of course I am a pink lovin' girls so naturally a little of that too!

Don't You Just Love It? I received a watermark RAK yesterday from Cindy Keery, she does such an amazing job with these watermarks.... Hugs and Many thanks Cindy, I absolutely love it!

I hope you enjoy... and don't forget to sign up for my blog candy... these Marvy Uchida Scalloped punches are hard to find... Best of Luck!

Card Details
Stamps: Polka Dots and Paisley, Polka Dots and Petals, Petals Jumbo Wheel
Cardstock: Whisper White, Pretty in Pink and Gable Green
Ink: Whisper White Craft, Pretty in Pink and Gable Green
Other: Rose Grosgrain Ribbon, White Narrow Organdy Ribbon, White Gel Pen, Pretty in Pink Brads

Circle Craze
I was in the mood for circles today so I thought I would play around with the Coluzzle, I used it for the Gable Green circle behind the main image.. I added some faux paper piercing using the white gel pen for accents. I created the smaller circle in the bottom corner using the 1 3/8" circle punch, it has the same faux paper piercing. I used the key tag punch for the sentiment and the 1/4" punch for the brad mats.

More Details
The card size is 6 1/2" x 3 1/4". I started by wheeling over the back layer (pretty in pink cardstock and ink) using the Petals jumbo wheel... (I like the look of Petals wheel when it is wheeled on the diagonal as apposed to wheeling it straight). I stamped the petals over top in whisper white craft ink. On the white panel I stamped 2 different images from Polka Dots and Petals in a random pattern. For the ribbon I decided to play with the frayed ribbon technique again (are you sick of this yet LOL, I'm not even close).. for this card I tied the two strands of ribbon around the card and then cut and frayed just the ends... I love this look.

Softer Side of Polka Dots and Paisley

Cardstock: Close to Cocoa, Blush Blossom, Bashful Blue, Very Vanilla and Petal Patch Designer Series Paper
Ink: Close to Cocoa, Blush Blossom, Certainly Celery and Bashful Blue Stampin Write Markers

A Lil' Polka Dots and Paisley

Lil' Polka Dots and Paisley

I am participating in Officer's School hosted by Jackie Bolhuis... one of our projects for this week was to create a card using the Polka Dots and Paisley set from the Spring Mini Catalog. Our task was to create a card that was "Demonstratable" hopefully this meets the criteria, this is something I would certainly do for a workshop demonstration or for a class.

Card Details:
Stamps- Polka Dots and Paisley
Cardstock- Chocolate Chip, Close to Cocoa, Regal Rose, Very Vanilla and Rebecca Designer Series Paper
Ink: Close to Cocoa and Regal Rose Stampin Write Markers, Very Vanilla Craft
Other: Ivory Organdy Ribbon, Flirty Ribbon Originals, Chocolate Grosgrain Ribbon

The Find Joy tags were created using the word window punch, the Happy was created using the large oval punch and I used the 1 1/4" and 1 3/8" punches to create the window and floral image. The background strip was created using the Very Vanilla Craft pad and a variation of the Vanilla Double technique. Card Dimensions are 4.25 x 4.25.

Vanilla Double Variation: to achieve this look, stamp lined image in Very Vanilla craft ink, let it sit for about 45 seconds and then smudge it with a paper towel slightly. Normally you would want to stamp randomly with ink after completing this step but in this card I didn't. The photograph does not show this particular part of the card well, but in person it looks like a faux bleaching technique (very lightly faded). Enjoy~

Last but certainly not least...

I wanted to finish posting my creations to my blog, I know many of you have already seen these samples in my SCS gallery but for those who haven't these are the last two projects I created in my stamping frenzy last night. Just a funny FYI... I made all of these cards in about an hour and a half... I had to take a break and run my daughter to dance and then came back and finished putting them together. It was a great evening spent doing what I love... stamping!! These last two samples basically use the same supplies that I have been doing on all the of the Rebecca series cards featuring the Polka Dots and Paisley stamp set. I did use a bit of the antique copper hodgepodge hardware on these cards to add to the list of embellishments and supplies.

No rambling today LOL lots to do. I have gifts to wrap, cookies to bake and have to pick up the kids in 2 hours and take them to their dance Christmas party!
Enjoy!!
P.S. for those of you who are demonstrators, I hope your stamp sets arrive soon! Happy Stamping!

Polka Dots and Paisley Goes Plaid

Playing with yet another card sketch challenge... SC40. I have been using designer paper from the Rebecca series and have really been struggling trying to find something to use the plaid for. It is a very busy pattern (JMHO) but when I started playing this sketch and decided to combine the look of plaid with the circles needed for this sketch it just kind of came together.

I absolutely love using punches, they speed the card making process up so you can spend more time getting ink all over your fingers LOL. I used the 1 3/4" and 1 1/4" circle punches as well as the word window punch.

Supplies used: Polka Dots and Paisley
Cardstock: Regal Rose, Chocolate Chip, Whisper White, Rebecca Designer Paper
Stampin' Write Markers: Close to Cocoa, Regal Rose, Sahara Sand
Other: Organdy Ribbon (white), Chocolate and Rose Grosgrain Ribbon, and Color Spritzer. Of course a sprinkle of the dazzling diamonds (I think it would be a rare thing for me to create a card and not use it LOL)

Yet Another Polka Dots and Paisley.... Sick of them Yet?

Another fun attempt at Sketch Challenge #97... this is one of my favorite sketches, it works great for designer papers of any kind. Again using the Polka Dots and Paisley and Rebecca Designer Paper but adding a fun tool.... the color spritzer. This is a tool I have had for a long time and seldom drag it out to use it. The speckles were added using this fun but forgotten tool with the Sahara Sand marker. The hodgepodge hardware is aged copper. The colors for this card are the same as before with the addition of the Close to Cocoa, I love adding monochromatic colors for a fun twist.
Ribbons again are more from the Flirty Originals with chocolate and rose grosgrain ribbon. The white dots were colored in using the gel pen (a tool I use a lot).
For more details about Sketch Challenge #97 click here. Thanks again for visiting, I know how busy the holidays can be... just a few more days until Christmas.
Happy Holidays!!

More Polka Dots and Paisley

This is quickly growing to the top of the favorites list for me. I created several cards last night to ensure that I have plenty to share over the course of the holidays. This card again uses the Rebecca Designer Paper with a new addition.... Flirty Ribbon Originals from the Winter Mini catalog. I love the class it adds to this card. The colors are the same as the last card, for details see the post from yesterday!
To no surprise this card is yet another card sketch. If you haven't taken the time to play with the sketches I would challenge you to give them a try, they are so much fun! This is Sketch Challenge #23 from SplitCoastStampers, you can view details about this challenge by clicking here. Thanks for stopping by and best wishes for a fabulous holiday!!
P.S. This photo was taken in my stamping room.... a few things to point out (If you look closely you can see ink on the table, I miss and I miss often LOL). You will also notice that the table is actually cleared off, which in itself is absolutely amazing!!

Polka Dots and Paisley

I was very excited to hear we were receiving free stamp sets from Shelli, this is of course one of my favorite perks LOL. I loved this set from the beginning, and not just because it was free. I have seen so many combinations using various Paisley background stamp sets in combinations with flowers and this had the best of both worlds in one box, and polka dots to go with it... absolutely fabulous! After looking at this stamp set closely, I realized that I had seen this paisley before.... after a quick glance at my designer series paper I was right... it is the Rebecca collection! I love the paper and stamps together, it is a perfect fit~!

The card showcases the color combination coordinating with the paisley designer paper: Sahara Sand, Regal Rose, and Chocolate Chip. The layout of the card is another card sketch, this sketch challenge is #86 from non other than SCS. Click here for original details about this sketch.

Polka Dots and Paisley will be available in the upcoming Spring Mini Catalog! I cannot wait to see what else the new mini will have in store!

Blog Candy? You can win this card by replying. I will be doing a drawing at the end of the weekend for it (card will mail out Dec 26)! You have to post to win! Good Luck!
